Took a woman on a first date to see Richie at the Keystone in Berkeley CA in 1981. The opening act was a guy ( female impersonator) doing Janis Joplin.
My date was 10 ft from the stage and Havens was watching from just off stage. They were both thinking the exact same thing. What the heck have I gotten myself into!!!!

Had an opportunity to see Richie in Bloomington, Indiana at an outdoor venue. I kid you not it rained, but entertainment continued. When Richie came out and started playing this was his first song. When he sang “Here comes the Sun” on sun the clouds rolled back and they was the beauty of the sunlight casting over and through the clouds. Quite memorable indeed.
