Review by John Broom

The album Violinkonzert A Moll Violinkonzert Nr1 C Dur Violinkonzert Nr 3 KV 216 by Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Isaac Stern is a masterpiece of classical music. The album features three of the most renowned violin concertos in the history of classical music, performed by one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century, Isaac Stern.

The album starts with Bach's Violin Concerto in A minor, a piece that showcases the composer's mastery of the form. Stern's interpretation of the piece is sublime, capturing the intricate melodies and the emotional depth of the music.

The second piece on the album is Haydn's Violin Concerto No. 1 in C major. This is a lively and joyful piece that highlights Haydn's playful style. Stern's performance is energetic and vibrant, bringing out the humor and the wit of the music.

The final piece on the album is Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major, K. 216. This is one of Mozart's most popular and beloved works, and Stern's interpretation is nothing short of breathtaking. He captures the beauty and the elegance of the music with his virtuosic playing.

About Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Isaac Stern

Johann Sebastian Bach was born on March 21, 1685 in Eisenach, Thuringia, Germany. A prolific German composer and organist, his sacred and secular works for choir, orchestra and solo instruments drew together the strands of the baroque genre and brought it to its ultimate maturity. Although he introduced no new forms, he enriched the prevailing German style with a robust contrapuntal technique, a control of harmonic and motivic organisation from the smallest to the largest scales, and the adaptation of rhythms and textures from abroad, particularly Italy and France. Many people consider him to be the greatest Baroque composer, and one of the greatest composers of all time. Revered for their intellectual depth, technical command and artistic beauty, J.S. Bach's works include the Brandenburg concertos, the keyboard suites and partitas, the Mass in B Minor, the St. Matthew Passion, The Musical Offering, The Art of Fugue and a large number of cantatas, of which about 220 survive. He died on July 28, 1750. Some of his sons also became composers - , , and .
